My own knowledge of butterflies is pitiful. Cabbage White and maybe a Red Admiral. That'd be it. And it seems a while since I saw any of those either. And with good reason, it seems - as our story today illustrates.
But you (almost certainly) know more than me and can (equally certainly) help. As you potter about on your daily business, you may spy a butterfly fluttering by. Note it well (this might help) and rush home to upload it onto our butterfly map as we and the butterfly conservationists get to work on mapping Britain's butterfly population.
