A new order in Manchester's streets

It's a long time since I lived in Manchester, but I cycle to work and, if I could, would make London's congestion charge far more draconian.

Proper Mancs (rather than the plastic one I now am), meanwhile, get a chance to vote on whether to adopt their own congestion charge. The scheme has got the backing of Sir Alex Ferguson. It's got the backing of New Order (listen below). We await the verdict from Morrissey and Sean Ryder, but otherwsie, Manchester - do the right thing...




Ronaldo - quite good

Has anyone been given such a prestigious award with so much carping and so little enthusiasm?
 

Cristiano Ronaldo’s elevation to the level of Europe’s top player (and arguably therefore the world’s best such are the economics of Europe’s elite leagues) has met with much carping about his preening self-regard, his lack of maturity, his greed and so on… The likes of Lionel Messi and his predecessor to the Ballon d’Or, Kaka are contrasted as modest geniuses in comparison the this ego-and-money driven ‘winker’ (oh well done all those who use that gag. Sounds a bit rude doesn’t it?).
 

He is, after all, the betrayer of Our Wayne.
